The forgotten ''thank you"

For over the years, manners is changing just like how fashion is. Before people are very polite and appreciative but as trends goes on and out manners seems like to be forgotten.According to L.A. Wilson manners are a tool to remind us of others around us. Saying "thank you" is just one of the polite manner that has been forgotten. As a college student who noticed this happenings the change should start within us. Some may think that it's absurd or not "in" in the society but at least in ourselves we know that we did a good job. being grateful in life is a sign of unity in society,it is one way of showing love and humbleness to others .Biblical understanding too emphasize on 'thank you'.I do therefore urge all to have this virtue and we will live happily.

POSSIBLE AND IMPOSSIBLE IN LIFE

The kind of life we live as individuals lies in the sense of determination we have in life.We may have difficulties in life and some may seem to be beyond our control and some may put us in dilemma .

However,according to Lacardo's quote, "the difference between the impossible and possible lies in in a person's determination" means a lot when related to description on the first paragraph.I,through Lacardo's inspiration do believe that I can make the same principle as his.I have my instinct that ,through determination one can achieve his or her goals in life.However, hard some situation may be,I always try my best to make them possible.

Basing on my experience,back in my country,I had a worse experience that I thought that would mean end of my existence.My friend from Uganda was stranded on the way as he was traveling from Uganda to Kenya. The bus had mechanical problem and he had to find another means, due to his ignorance he took a taxi which took him in different direction but unfortunately he was cued by the cops because he sensed danger a head. After all of these he made a call to me requesting that I should pick him by my car. It was late and the guy was stranded in one of the cities in Kenya that was almost look away from my resident. Without hesitating, I took off to Bungoma (name of the city). Carefully and fast enough I drove down the highway and meet my friend.

Ignorantly, the guy mingled with strangers inquiring about my location some robbers marked his moves waiting for the opportunity to rob him. On my arrival, the robbers marked the identification number of my car and as soon as I picked my friend they followed me by their car. I was good enough to raise their intention because they drove some speed as me with no intention to overtake. After 50km, I had to fuel my car so I went to to the nearest petron station and the gang went ahead. My friend was kind of confused about their move, so about 10km away from the gas station I was shocked because they blocked the highway using heavy stones. They again parked their car on the highway and and they were ready to attack.
Everything was like impossible I thought of reversing my route but it's not possible. Through my determination, I had to find a way out. At the super-sonic speed, I had to drive off-road, force way out and without caring the outcome. I found myself on the other side of the road. The gang did not surrender but instead decided to follow again and this time it was like a rally race.

I was determined about our safety, I drove out the highest speed possible but the group was really coming closer. My friend at this time was panicking but kept on cheering me to do my best. Suddenly after a long race, we came across the police patrol and had to stop and explain to them and was sort out.

Actually, I would like to relate this experience because of the determination I had. It looked impossible but by all means and the will to trust God it turned out to be possible. Truly did I realized that possible and impossible lies in the determination of the person to succeed.

my favorite poem

Desiderata

-- written by Max Ehrmann in the 1920s --
Not "Found in Old St. Paul's Church"! -- see below

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

-this poem inspires me on how to live a cheerful life and not to plant any hate to anyone. I hope to all persons who can read this you'll be inspired the same way that I am until now.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Taken

Movie Summary of Taken

Seventeen year-old Kim is the pride and joy of her father Bryan Mills. Bryan is a retired agent who left the Secret Service to be near Kim in California. Kim lives with her mother Lenore and her wealthy stepfather Stuart. Kim manages to convince her reluctant father to allow her to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda. When the girls arrive in Paris they share a cab with a stranger named Peter, and Amanda lets it slip that they are alone in Paris. Using this information an Albanese gang of human traffickers kidnaps the girls. Kim barely has time to call her father and give him information. Her father gets to speak briefly to one of the kidnappers and he promises to kill the kidnappers if they do not let his daughter go free. The kidnapper wishes him "good luck," so Bryan Mills travels to Paris to search for his daughter and her friend.

Movie Review of Taken

When I saw this movie I felt like I was in the roller coaster of feelings, I felt scared, I felt sympathy to the father. However, I consider this movie as a lesson to everybody not only for the girls but also for all the children that always want to go against their parents. Parents always know best for us if they really care and consider us. If some parents go against your will it means that they can sense that that thing is not the best that you can do but they believe you can do better. As the Bible says “those who accepts advice are wise and those whoever hate correction are stupid”

I consider being an obedient boy, I am the first born in the family that’s why I should set as an example to my brothers and sister. Basing on my life experience, I noticed that, the future of a good family is determined by the relationship of the heads of the family (Father and Mother). The movie for example, the parents of the daughter were already separated and no one was keen about the social growth of the daughter, in fact, mother lied to the father concerning the trip. This is a clear indication that the parents were not in good terms hence influencing the life of their daughter. I do believe that if the two were good, then the daughter would learn from them and such trouble would not be encountered.

I wish the movie ended by the reunion of Kim’s parents. It will be such a relief that the daughter will take advise from both parents with the same intentions. Being strict of our parents does not mean they don’t love us but instead it means that they really care for us and for our future. Be always kind to our parents and give them the love and respect they truly deserve because without them we are not here writing this blog.

Mission of MSU-IIT

Mission

To provide quality education for the industrial and socio-economic development of Mindanao with its diverse cultures through relevant programs in instruction, research, extension, and community involvement.

Mission in Life

As we all know, mission is an aim in life arising from conviction and or sense of calling. I consider it as a permanent diplomatic delegation in life. Therefore, through experience, inspiration and other sources of knowledge we get to realize our mission in life.
As an alien in this country, I'm open to learn new things, new teachings, and new culture that this country might offer. I hope to visit the other parts of the Philippines and try to observe there living. In addition, I will also share our culture to them especially how to value friends and other people. For several months that I've stayed here I observed that one of the problem of the Filipino is they don't help each other to succeed instead they pull them down those who try to get to the top, that is why corruption is common here.
As a student, I have a mission of graduating my course which I decided to take. I hope to make the best out of it and cherish the life of a college student. My parents, my teachers, and my very good friends inspired me to achieve my dreams in life. Education is like a locked door and the key to open that door is your determination to really achieve it, and struggle in life's everyday challenges.
Aside from education, I hope to have a good family starting to find a good fearing woman to be my wife, because I believe that the attitudes and values of my future kids will definitely come from us. I want to promote Christianity and peace to everybody and I believe that change will start from me. I have to be an example by having a God-fearing family that others might witness the greatness of having Christ in a family.
Leading a Christian life is my greatest mission because I believe that it is what I am made for.,
My dream is to see the Kingdom of God proudly and say to Him that I've done a very great job on earth bringing more souls closer to His feet.
