media today

Media is anything that can be use in terms of communication. It is a way where people get to communicate from different places at one time. Media may be through texting, radio, news in tv, internet surfing and etc.
Media makes our life easier, long time ago passing news, letters and even money is through hand in hand sometimes it takes days, weeks, months, and even years to receive such but today through technology we can be able to know what is happening in our nation even the whole world through media. In one click we can get all the information we need through this technology. It also helps a lot with our business today you don’t need to gout to order a take out food, one click and it will be delivered to you in couple of minutes.
With all these advantages media results some unfavorable things to human race its because through media young people tend to view inappropriate things that they should not see like pornographic sites, addiction to online games, and being abused in cyber space. Media can also be a hinder for right communication, for instance, the Mendoza hostage taking crisis, because of some media men the police were not able to communicate well with the kidnapper. The interference of some media men just to get the first scoop of the news had affected the situation. They also risk their lives for that purposes.
In my point of view I think that media made our lives really easy and it contributed a lot for the progress of our country. But, bear in mind that something especially concerning about this matter should be controlled. For the adults they should watch their kids for some sites that they should not go through. The use of media is sometimes the cause of danger and death just like in some social sites through this information some people might use this information to use our name and may cause danger in our lives.
Generally media turns out to be the best means of improving our lives but this could also means to be the worst part of having good technology. It is actually depends on the people that is using media and I hope that it will be use for the better and for the progress of our lives and our country.

some legend in Philippines

the monkey and crocodile
Monkey was upset. No food could be found anymore in the forest of the little island of Buyayaw. He was very hungry indeed. Of course, he could go to the mainland, where there was plenty of food, but that was exactly the problem. How could he cross the channel of water, infested with the voracious crocodiles?

"Well, let's find out from the water," Monkey said. "You, water, if it will be dangerous for me to cross, you should become cold."

He dipped with his hand into the water, and cold it was indeed! But to die from hunger wasn't a pleasure either, so he would try to cross the channel, whatever the outcome!

So Monkey started out. In the middle of the channel, Crocodile was waiting for him!

"What do you want of me, Crocodile?" Monkey asked.

"Well," Crocodile said, "I'll just have your liver. That's what I like best."

"My liver! exclaimed Monkey. "That's just too bad. I left it on the shore because if I took it along, I would surely be drowned. But as a good friend, I am willing to get it for you. Maybe you could give me a ride on your back?"

And then they went to the shore. With a great leap Monkey jumped onto solid land and turned around at a safe distance.

"You stupid Crocodile," he shouted, "did you ever hear about a man who left his liver behind!"

And after that he disappeared into the forest, leaving an angry crocodile behind.

But Crocodile planned to take revenge, and one day he hid himself in the house of Monkey, while Monkey was out. But Monkey was suspicious, and wanted to make sure as to whether or not Crocodile was inside the house.

"If somebody is in the house, let him keep silent," Monkey shouted, "but if nobody is inside, he should give a yell."

And sure enough, Crocodile gave a terrific yell!

Said Monkey, "You stupid Crocodile, have you ever heard a house yell, when nobody was inside!"

But Crocodile didn't give up. One day later on he had been wallowing in the mud and had an awful stench. Flies were settling on his body as if he had already died. While this was happening Monkey came up, so Crocodile acted as if he was a real cadaver.

Monkey came nearer. Crocodile looked dead, all right, but one couldn't be sure. "You, cadaver, if you are alive, don't make a sound. But if you are really dead, let me hear it."

And Crocodile gave a thundering roar!

"You stupid Crocodile," Monkey laughed from a safe distance. "Ever heard about the dead crocodile that roars?"

Because of his cleverness, Monkey could always escape the tricks of Crocodile.

The sand and the stone..

Jamal and Nahim were once walking in the desert going to the east. During their journey they had an argument and Jamal slapped his friend Nahim in the face. On that day Jamal wrote in the sand: today my friend slapped me in the face. They kept on walking until they found an oasis and decided to take a bath. Jamal was stuck in the mire and almost drowning and so Nahim saved him. After Jamal recovered from drowning he wrote in a stone: today my friend saved my life. So Nahim asks Jamal after I hurt you, you wrote in the sand but when I saved you, you wrote it in the stone why? Then Jamal answered: when someone hurts you you should write it in the sand where wind and water can washed it away, but when someone do something good you should engrave it in stone where no wind can erase it.

Coming to Philippines

When I was in Kenya I thought that Philippines is a very cool place to stay, what I mean is the temperature.. Unexpectedly when the plane was slowly landing in the airport of Cebu, I already felt the hotness of this place. I was so ignorant and I don't really know much about this country. I ride in a taxi and I have troubles communicating with him because he don't know how to speak English. He took advantage of my ignorance and he were on the city going round and round and at the end I paid a very high bill for riding his taxi. Finally I found a security guard and I ask how to be in Dumaguete where I am suppose to study.
For the first time I was in a boat and I felt scary maybe because I'm not familiar or I never ride a boat before because our place and lands. So I can't sleep at night because I was securing for my life though I don't know how to. It was a very big relief for me when I arrived in Dumaguete City safe and sound. So when we arrived still being unlucky I was already late for enrollment and so I have to go back to Cebu to see which school I can go to again. A friend of mine told me about this place and MSU-IIT and so we ride in a boat again! We really don't know this place so when the boat stopped me and my comp[anion thought that it was already Iligan City but when we ask a jeepney driver we were still in Ozamis City and so we really have to hurry as soon as we can before the boat goes to the real place we suppose to go.
So finally we came here and I was enrolled in MSU-IIT. Our struggles did not stop there because we need to validate our visa so that we will be legal here in this country. I really spent a lot going to Cagayan and processing things and finally those things were over now.
My struggles don't stop there I still need to struggle for the next 3 years being around in this place. Being in a foreign land is not easy sometimes you are a subject to be taken advantage thinking that foreigners have a lot of money and just here to enjoy and spend worthless time. I'm lucky now that I have good friends who can direct me what is good and right without being used for personal purposes.

Funny memory back home

This experience is not really a serious but I would like to share because maybe I just miss my family in Kenya so much. When we're kids there was only the four of us 3 boys and 1 girl. My Dad really loves my sister every after work my dad use to bring some bread for my sister alone because she's very loved by my Dad. One brother of mine named Cornelias use to scold my sister and sometimes he is being rude to her when our Dad and Mom are not around. So when my sister had a bread all of the brothers were very jealous of the bread but we can't complain because it's understandable that she's the only lady child. So Sharon (my sister) will not give any bread to Cornelias because she don't like him, unlike me she's very close to me. To solve the conflict I have to borrow to breads for me and Cornelias because I can't bear to see him not eating the delicious bread.
These memories are just flashing in the back of my mind when I'm frustrated or very home-sick, this is one of the things that keeps me going.

The forgotten ''thank you"

For over the years, manners is changing just like how fashion is. Before people are very polite and appreciative but as trends goes on and out manners seems like to be forgotten.According to L.A. Wilson manners are a tool to remind us of others around us. Saying "thank you" is just one of the polite manner that has been forgotten. As a college student who noticed this happenings the change should start within us. Some may think that it's absurd or not "in" in the society but at least in ourselves we know that we did a good job. being grateful in life is a sign of unity in society,it is one way of showing love and humbleness to others .Biblical understanding too emphasize on 'thank you'.I do therefore urge all to have this virtue and we will live happily.

POSSIBLE AND IMPOSSIBLE IN LIFE

The kind of life we live as individuals lies in the sense of determination we have in life.We may have difficulties in life and some may seem to be beyond our control and some may put us in dilemma .

However, according to Lacardo's quote, "the difference between the impossible and possible lies in in a person's determination" means a lot when related to description on the first paragraph.I,through Lacardo's inspiration do believe that I can make the same principle as his.I have my instinct that ,through determination one can achieve his or her goals in life. However, hard some situation may be,I always try my best to make them possible.

Basing on my experience, back in my country,I had a worse experience that I thought that would mean end of my existence. My friend from Uganda was stranded on the way as he was traveling from Uganda to Kenya. The bus had mechanical problem and he had to find another means, due to his ignorance he took a taxi which took him in different direction but unfortunately he was cued by the cops because he sensed danger a head. After all of these he made a call to me requesting that I should pick him by my car. It was late and the guy was stranded in one of the cities in Kenya that was almost look away from my resident. Without hesitating, I took off to Bungoma (name of the city). Carefully and fast enough I drove down the highway and meet my friend.

Ignorantly, the guy mingled with strangers inquiring about my location some robbers marked his moves waiting for the opportunity to rob him. On my arrival, the robbers marked the identification number of my car and as soon as I picked my friend they followed me by their car. I was good enough to raise their intention because they drove some speed as me with no intention to overtake. After 50km, I had to fuel my car so I went to to the nearest petron station and the gang went ahead. My friend was kind of confused about their move, so about 10km away from the gas station I was shocked because they blocked the highway using heavy stones. They again parked their car on the highway and and they were ready to attack.
Everything was like impossible I thought of reversing my route but it's not possible. Through my determination, I had to find a way out. At the super-sonic speed, I had to drive off-road, force way out and without caring the outcome. I found myself on the other side of the road. The gang did not surrender but instead decided to follow again and this time it was like a rally race.

I was determined about our safety, I drove out the highest speed possible but the group was really coming closer. My friend at this time was panicking but kept on cheering me to do my best. Suddenly after a long race, we came across the police patrol and had to stop and explain to them and was sort out.

Actually, I would like to relate this experience because of the determination I had. It looked impossible but by all means and the will to trust God it turned out to be possible. Truly did I realized that possible and impossible lies in the determination of the person to succeed.
